Ping Shang is a veteran sports executive, coach, and former professional athlete with more than two decades of experience spanning China, the United States, Europe, and Oceania.

He holds an MBA from the National School of Development at Peking University and a Bachelor of Economics from Emporia State University (USA). Combining strong business insight with deep industry expertise, Ping is certified as a FIBA Licensed Agent, a CBA Level B Coach, and a Sports Agent by the General Administration of Sport of China.

Throughout his distinguished career, Ping has held leadership roles across multiple facets of sports management. He served as Director at Starz Sports and at the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and was Manager of the Chinese Men’s National Ice Hockey Team during the Beijing Winter Olympics. He has been closely involved in China’s top-tier basketball leagues and possesses in-depth knowledge of the national basketball competition and talent development systems.

Before transitioning into management, Ping enjoyed a professional basketball career of more than 10 years across China, the USA, Greece, and New Zealand. As the first Chinese player to compete in Europe, he gained direct exposure to advanced international basketball strategies and development philosophies.

Ping also brings financial-sector experience, having served as a Relationship Manager for the Chinese Market at J.P. Morgan Singapore. In addition, he is the founder of the largest basketball training institution in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, where he has led programs in partnership with NBA-level trainers and conducted over eight years of technical training and youth development.

Committed to advancing the next generation of athletes and coaches, Ping Shang serves as a Basketball Instructor for the CBA Elite Program, an Honorary Instructor for the Yao Foundation, and an Expert Coach for the Tsai Chongxin Foundation’s “Educating Through Sports” initiative. He also acts as an NYBO Youth Basketball Promotion Ambassador, continuing to inspire growth and excellence across China’s basketball community.
